The Holyoke Breastfeeding Resource Center provides breastfeeding support and individual lactation consultations (on the phone or in person) for patients of the Holyoke and Chicopee Health Centers. The goal of the Holyoke Breastfeeding Resource Center, in collaboration with our community partners, is to improve the continuity of breastfeeding care for women and their families.

Breastfeeding Recommendation

The AAP recommends exclusive breastfeeding for approximately 6 months after birth. Support for continued breastfeeding, along with appropriate complementary foods, as long as mutually desired by mother and child for 2 years and beyond.
